CHEM-FREE FITNESS LECTURE

Strength Training for Longevity Lecture

Sat, Jun 20 2:00 PM Yacht Club Micro-Lounge

About This Event

90 Minutes | Longevity isn’t just about staying active, it’s about building the strength needed to support movement for a lifetime. Strength training is a foundational tool for maintaining joint health, bone density, balance, and resilience as we age, yet it’s often misunderstood or avoided.

This lecture explores why strength training is essential for everyone, regardless of background or movement practice. We’ll discuss how strength supports mobility, why controlling end-range positions matters more than flexibility alone, and how appropriate loading helps protect joints and reduce injury risk over time.

Designed for a movement-focused audience, this session reframes strength training away from gym culture and toward accessible, intentional practices that enhance how the body feels and functions. Attendees will leave with practical insights on how strength training supports longevity, confidence in movement, and the ability to continue doing the activities they love, now and in the future.

You can follow up this event with the “Restore Mobility” session happening after on the Yacht Club Greenspace
