CHEM-FREE WORKSHOP YOGA

Poetry in Motion

Sat, Jun 20 4:00 PM Lawn at Beaconsfield House

About This Event

120 Minutes | Haiku is a form of poetry that captures the essence of nature succinctly in the present moment, while yoga is a mindful practice that teaches us to be aware of ourselves as part of the natural world around us, here and now; this workshop combines the art of both practices in a 2-hour guided experience with Carrie Lundy. Through gentle movement, meditation and breath work, Carrie will gently leading you in blending mindfulness exercises with your writing, an approach that inspired her first collection of poetry, So Hum. This workshop is beginner-friendly, so no yoga or writing experience is required! You will learn the basic elements of haiku, practice foundational yoga techniques to connect with your surroundings, and pause to write poetry in the spaces in between. We will close with an optional sharing circle, if time allows.

Please bring: Journal, Blanket, Water
Rain Location: Charlottetown Yoga Space** weather permitting the outdoor location will be on the LAWN at Beaconsfield but the indoor location will NOT be in the Carriage House for this event.
